| RINGMER QUARTET & ENSEMBLE CONTEST 13 FEBRUARY 2005 |
| YOUTH ENSEMBLE |
| The 10 piece Mid Sussex Brass Band Youth Band Ensemble played two contrasting pieces of music in the Youth Ensemble competition. The addition of drums helped them on their way to a well deserved 1st Place. |
| With about 6 weeks rehearsal, their conductor Peter Mansfield helped mould this winning performance. |

| YOUTH QUARTET B |
| Faye Buttery (1st cornet), Emily Denyer (2nd Cornet), Adam Passingham (horn) and Tim Johnson (Euphonium) put on a crowd pleasing performance as the last to play in the Youth sections. |
| With about 6 weeks rehearsal, their conductor Ray Woods put them through their paces playing a March by Handel (Occasional Oratario), a Cannon base on a hymn, and the speedy A Lover and His Lass. |
| Although not a winning performance, the music had the audience applauding loudly at the end. |

| YOUTH QUARTET A |
| Rosalind Loyd-Bostock (1st cornet), Laura White (2nd Cornet), Emily Crosta (horn) and Kate Bull (Euphonium) put on a fabulous and original performance to secure a well deserved 3rd prize under their conducter and composer, Simon Saville. | They played a a brand new composition by Simon Saville that tested every member of the quartet. |
| SENIOR QUARTET A (3RD SECTION) |
| David Imray (1st Tromb), Peter Mansfield (2nd Tromb), Dave Macari and Paul Homewood (Bass Tromb) competed for Mid Sussex Brass Band securing 1st Prize under the conducting of Ray Lomas. They never expected to win though because they lost the score and Paul forgot his glasses!! |
